Recently we were commissioned by a very good client in Holland to complete the manufacture of a special stretch tent design they had conceptualised.
The order for this stretch tent design was to manufacture fifty-four custom sidewall products.
Now, you may be thinking ‘that seems simple enough.’
However, the challenge was that they were all different sizes; i.e. each panel was a custom sidewall which could only fit one section of our client’s design.
In fact, the design left no room for error in measurement or manufacture.
The other challenge was that the client resides in Holland so they could not inspect the goods during the manufacturing process.
We were acutely aware of the frustration it would cause if, when it came to installing each panel, they did not fit 100% correctly.
It’s a very dynamic process to create something direct to spec and in this case, there were three tiers to consider;
Firstly, since the client is in Europe, we had to be sure that they had measured all panels correctly on  their side.
Then from our side we needed to be highly accurate to the millimetre since each panel was different  measurement.
The knock-on effect of one being wrongly made could be catastrophic to the timeline we were given for delivery.
Thirdly the client would have to install correctly their side, so a lot could go wrong.
The result of our stretch tent design
Within a five-day period, we manufactured all the panels and two days later we had sent the goods off.
Three days after that we received a WhatsApp to say that they were overwhelmed with satisfaction as every single sidewall panel fitted perfectly.
When asked if there were any question marks over the quality he replied;
‘Yes, the quality is always 100% and I am happy.’
We’ve worked with the client for a while now and they trust Dimensions Manufacturing to be able to deliver on whatever stretch tent design they ask of us.
An important point to remember is that if the information we are provided is not 100% accurate this can possibly lead to a shortfall in the finished product.
As one of the top guys in Holland in terms of buying, selling and renting Bedouin stretch tents we are were extremely happy to meet their requirements in a very short timeframe.
They are a well-established business with a big footprint in the Dutch market who have also done a lot of the R ‘n D work to get the stretch tents in Holland to where it is right now.
Needless to say, we have massive respect for their work.
In a nutshell, from enquiry to arriving in Holland it took no more than twelve to fifteen days to turn the entire job around.
From initial negotiation and specification analysis to delivering back in Holland, including freight, we did it!
It was a bit tight, but we always keep our doors open for our clients – or should we say we keep ‘space on our table’ to deliver on the concepts they conceive.
If you have a grand idea for a stretch tent design, we’d love to hear all about it and you can be sure, there’s space on our table to go the extra mile and deliver on time.
